India Crosses 150,000 COVID-19 Cases

I have been doing Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 72 days and have written 127 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 72 days.

Exactly six years after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister of India for the first time, India has become the tenth country in the world to cross 150,000 COVID-19 cases.

Of the 10 countries with 150,000 cases, 6 (including Russia) are in Europe, 2 (including Turkey) are in Asia, and 1 each in North America (USA) and South America (Brazil).

It took India 11 days to reach 50,000 cases from 25,000, 7 days to reach 75,000 cases, 5 days to reach 100,000 cases, 5 days to reach 125,000 cases, and only 3 days to reach 150,000 cases.

At the current growth rate of the Top 10 countries, India is expected to overtake Turkey to reach the No.9 rank worldwide in number of cases, 5 days to overtake Germany and France to reach the No.7 rank, 10 days to overtake Italy to reach the No.6 rank, and 14 days to overtake UK and Spain to reach the No.4 rank globally.

Of the 150,313 confirmed cases in India as per covid19india.org, 36.43% are from Maharashtra state alone. If Maharashtra were a country, it would rank No.20 in the world in number of cases.
