CORONAVIRUS DEATHS — Which Countries have the Highest Growth?

I have been doing Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 33 days. The 20 countries in this Table are the ones which have reported the most number of COVID-19 related deaths until Midnight UTC/GMT yesterday (16 April).

The 20 countries comprise 138,054 COVID-19 deaths, which is 94.9% of total 145,471 deaths worldwide.

The Compounded Daily Growth Rate (CDGR) has been calculated for a 10-day period from 6th April to 16th April, and the same CDGR has been applied to project the deaths on 26th April; however, there may be changes based on the situation in each country over the next 10 days. Today’s comparison is between the 7-day period 10—17 April with the 7-day period 9—16 April.

As you can see from the Table, Canada, Brazil and India have the highest CDGR, based on which each of these three countries is expected to move up 3 ranks in the highest no. of deaths. As USA has a substantially higher death count than the current No.2 (Italy) and No.3 (Spain), USA will maintain its No.1 position. Belgium, Ireland and Germany are expected to move up 1 rank each; while UK and France are expected to move up 2 ranks each. Sweden, Turkey Austria and Netherlands are expected to maintain their ranks. Switzerland is expected to go down 1 rank; Indonesia, Portugal and Spain down 2 ranks; and Iran down 3 ranks.

And of course, the one and only China — the most honest country in reporting COVID-19 cases and deaths — is projected to go down 5 ranks. (Yes, I’m being sarcastic!)
