I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 117 days and have written 185 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 117 days.
Yes, the United States of America has crossed 3,000,000 (three million or thirty lakh) Covid-19 cases. USA has 25.8% of the world’s total 11.63 million cases. USA’s case count is almost the same as the next 3 countries — Brazil, India and Russia — put together.
At 132,665 deaths, the US has 24.65% of the world’s death count of 538,161, slightly lower than the next 3 countries — Brazil, UK and Italy — put together. The No.2 country, Brazil with 64,900 deaths, has less than half the deaths as the US. Just 5 of the 50 American states — New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois and Pennsylvania — have a higher death count of 69,744.
However, USA’s Fatality Rate (percentage of deaths) of 4.43% is lower than the average 5.06% of the other 29 countries in the Top 30,
America reached from its first 250,000 to 500,000 cases in 8 days, 750,000 cases in 9 days, 1.0 million in 8 days, 1.25 million in 9 days, 1.5 million in 10 days, 1.75 million 2.0 million and 2.25 million in 11 days each, 2.5 million in only 7 days, then 2.75 million in only 6 days and now 3.0 million in just 5 days.
This shows that the case count is rapidly growing in the past 18 days. The country has recorded an average of 47,792 daily cases in the past 10 days.
Despite this, it is shocking that 38% of American adults say that the coronavirus outbreak has been made a bigger deal than it really is, compared with 29% in April. Amongst the supporters of President Donald Trump, the number is much higher at 63%, compared with 47% in April.
