Five countries — USA, Brazil, India, South Africa, Colombia (UBISC) — registered 173,894 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, which was 69.86% of the 248,914 Covid cases worldwide yesterday, a new world record, which beat the previous record of 237,728 Covid cases on July 10.
The last 30 days’ average is 188,856 cases per day. It was 114,681 daily cases between May 17 and June 16, so the growth has been a whopping 64.7% in one month.
USA registered its highest daily tally of 73,388 cases, beating its previous record of 72,278 cases on July 10. The last 30 days’ average is 49,405 cases per day, 120.7% higher than the 22,383 average daily cases registered between May 17 and June 16.
Brazil registered its seventh highest daily tally of 43,829 cases. The last 30 days’ average is 36,197 cases per day, 61.3% higher than the 22,442 average daily cases registered between May 17 and June 16.
India registered its highest daily tally of 35,468 cases, beating its previous record of 32,682 cases on July 15. The last 30 days’ average is 21,716 cases per day, 155.5% higher than the 8,500 average daily cases registered between May 17 and June 16.
South Africa registered its second highest daily tally of 13,172. The record is 13,674 cases on July 11. The last 30 days’ average is 8,263 cases per day, 313.3% higher than the 1,999 average daily cases registered between May 17 and June 16.
Colombia registered its highest daily tally of 8,037 cases, beating its previous record of 6,803 cases on July 10. The last 30 days’ average is 3,943 cases per day, 205.7% higher than the 1,290 average daily cases registered between May 17 and June 16.
OTHER COVID-19 HEADLINES:
- USA will cross 3.7 million (37 lakh) cases in a few hours.
- Brazil became the second country to cross 2 million cases.
- India became the third country to cross 1 million cases.
- Russia became the fourth country to cross 750,000 (7.5 lakh) cases.
- South Africa overtook Mexico and Chile to reach the No.6 rank in cases — it was at No. 17 just 15 days ago.
- Argentina overtook Canada to reach the No.20 rank in cases.
- Iraq overtook China and Egypt to reach the No.23 rank in cases — China is now at the No. 25 rank (SERIOUSLY!!!)
- Brazil became the second country after USA to cross 75,000 deaths.
- UK became the third country to cross 45,000 deaths.
- India became the 8th country to cross 25,000 deaths.
