The average TV viewership per person worldwide has come down 8% from 188 minutes per day to 173 minutes per day in the last ten years. This is expected to go further down to 168 minutes in two years, that is by 2020.
During the same period, the average amount of time spent on the internet per person has gone up 3.33 times, to 160minutes per day. This is expected to go further up to 180 minutes by 2020.
Sometime in the second half of 2019, in about 14-16 months from now, internet will overtake TV. Does this signal an end of TV, just how printed magazines and newspapers have seen their demise?
