Contrary to popular belief amongst Indians, Emirates Airlines of Dubai is not amongst the Best 10 Airlines of the world.
In a survey of 72 airlines globally, Qatar Airways was voted as the best airline, followed by Lufthansa of Germany at No.2, Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi at No.3, Singapore Airlines at No.4 and South African Airways at No.5.
To me personally, South African Airways at No. 5 was a big surprise.
Our own Jet Airways – which is now defunct – was amongst the Worst 10.
If it is any solace to Indians, Pakistan’s flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines was the third worst airline amongst the 72 airlines surveyed.
