I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 121 days and have written 189 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 121 days.
The world has seen an increase of 206% in Coronavirus cases and 98% in Covid-related deaths in the last 2 months.
But most European nations show a completely different picture. SEE THE TABLE. Barring Russia (technically a European country even though most of it is geographically closer to Asia) and Sweden, as many as 9 European nations (France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, UK and Portugal) are amongst the Bottom 10 in terms of growth of cases as well as deaths in the last 10 months.
How is this possible?
While one can safely assume that the high growth recorded in South Africa, India, Bangladesh, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Peru and Qatar is because these 11 countries started aggressive testing late, how does USA have a 144% growth rate in cases and 73% in deaths while the average of the 9 European nations is only a 16.8% growth in cases and 20.2% in deaths?
If we exclude Portugal and UK, the growth in the balance 7 European countries comes down much further to 11.1% in cases and 13.3% in deaths.
France has a negative growth in cases as it lowered its case count by over 38,000 on June 03. It has not reported testing data since June 02.
And how does Sweden have a 183% growth in cases and 73% in deaths? If the disease has been controlled from growing in Europe, is Sweden not part of Europe?
Are some of these European countries following China’s example? If this is the case, why are their citizens silent? Is it because most people in these countries care more about working and socializing, than staying at home?

- South Africa overtook Saudi Arabia to reach the No.13 rank in cases (it was at the No. 17 rank just 8 days ago)
- Argentina became the 22nd country to overtake China
- Pakistan became the 19th country to cross 5,000 deaths
