US, Brazil, India & S.Africa’s 157,131 cases result in new record of 236,918 worldwide

I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 121 days and have written 190 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 121 days.

After a record of 223,640 Covid cases on Thursday (revised from 223,230 due to a change in prior days’ figures by some countries, which happens almost daily), as I had predicted yesterday, the world set a new record of 236,918 cases on Friday, July 10.

The last 30 days’ average is 171,963 cases per day. It was 108,285 daily cases between May 11 and June 10, so the growth has been 58.8% in a month.

Just 4 countries — USA, Brazil, India and South Africa — contributed 66.32% of the worldwide cases yesterday. They had contributed 64.26% of the total worldwide cases on Thursday, July 9.

USA recorded its highest daily tally of 71,787 cases, a whopping 16.07% higher than its previous record of 61,848 cases on Wednesday, July 8. This is the first time that any country has reported over 70,000 cases on a single day. The last 30 days’ average is 40,802 cases per day. It was 22,531 daily cases between May 11 and June 10, so the growth has been 81.1% in a month.

Brazil recorded 45,235 cases, which was its fifth highest daily count. Its record is 55,209 cases on June 19. The last 30 days’ average is 34,305 cases per day. It was 20,201 daily cases between May 11 and June 10, so the growth has been 69.8% in a month.

India recorded its highest daily tally of 27,761 cases. The earlier record was 25,790 cases on Thursday, July 9. The last 30 days’ average is 17,848 cases per day. It was 7,213 daily cases between May 11 and June 10, so the growth has been 147.4% in a month.

South Africa recorded its second highest daily tally of 12,348 cases. Its highest was 13,674 cases on Thursday. The last 30 days’ average is 6,509 cases per day. It was 1,492 daily cases between May 11 and June 10, so the growth has been a whopping 336.3% in just one month. South Africa is the new hotbed for Coronavirus and I am sure we will hear a lot more from this country unless it decides to start concealing data as some countries have possibly done.
