Fact Check: Are women leaders managing Covid better than male leaders?

I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 122 days and have written 191 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 122 days.

There’s something doing the rounds on WhatsApp and other chat apps about how female leaders are managing the Covid pandemic better than male leaders.

I decided to do a FACT CHECK and studied data on 16 countries. Taiwan was left out as its data — like China’s — is quite unbelievable.

My findings are presented in the Table.

Though the hypothesis is more or less correct, two leaders buck the trend — India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has done better than 7 of the 8 women leaders in the study; and Iceland’s Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, who has done worse than 5 of the 8 male leaders.

I hope you found this study interesting.
