I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 131 days and have written 201 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 131 days.
Yes, the United States of America (USA) has crossed 4,000,000 (four million or 40 lakh) Covid-19 cases. USA has 26.7% of the world’s total Covid cases and its case count is almost equal to the next 3 countries — Brazil, India and Russia — put together.
New York state has crossed 435,000 cases and California has crossed 400,000. Two other states — Florida and Texas — have crossed 347,000 cases; four — New Jersey, Illinois, Georgia and Arizona — have crossed 148,000; and three — Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and North Carolina — have crossed 100,000 cases. Just 8 out of 50 American states have a higher case count than Brazil, the country with the second-highest number of cases.
At 144,596 deaths, the US has 23.5% of the world’s death count. The top 2 US states in number of deaths — New York and New Jersey, — have a death count of 48,416, which is higher than UK, the country with the third highest death count (Brazil with 80,493 is in the second position).
USA reached its first 500,000 cases in 70 days, 1 million in 17 days, 1.5 million in 19 days, 2 million in 22 days, 2.5 million in 18 days, 3 million in 11 days, 3.5 million in 8 days, and now 4.0 million in 7 days.
In the last 20 days (July 1–20), the US has recorded an average of 61,629 cases per day, compared to 32,955 cases per day in the previous 20 days (June 11–30).
OTHER COVID-19 HEADLINES:
- Brazil crossed 2.1 million cases.
- South Africa overtook Peru to reach the No.5 rank in cases
— it was No. 17 just 18 days ago. - Saudi Arabia became the 13th country to cross 2,50,000 cases.
- Bangladesh and Colombia overtook Germany to reach the No.16 and No.17 rank in cases. Only 4 European countries — Russia, Spain, UK and Italy — are now in the Top 17.
- Egypt overtook China and Indonesia to reach the No.24 rank in cases — China is now at the No.26 rank (SERIOUSLY!!!)
- Brazil became the second country to cross 80,000 deaths.
- South Africa became the 22nd country to cross 5,000 deaths.
