Did my article cause panic in some state governments? India logs 45,600 cases!!!

I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 133 days and have written 204 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 133 days.

My article Which Indian States are managing Coronavirus well and which are not? seems to have caused panic in some state governments. Please allow me to tell you why I think so…

Jharkhand was ranked 30 out of 31 states and UTs in my article. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 487 cases, or a whopping 73% growth over the previous 7-day average.

UP was ranked 27. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 2,300 cases, which is an 18.7% growth!

Chhattisgarh was ranked 25. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 268 cases, which is a 38.8% growth!

Odisha was ranked 23. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 1,078 cases, which is a whopping 68.5% growth!

Kerala was ranked 20. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 1,038 cases, which is a 43.5% growth!

Maharashtra was ranked 18. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 10,576 cases, which is a 24.7% growth!

Uttarakhand was ranked 16. Yesterday, it reported its highest tally of 451 cases, which is a huge 171.5% growth!

These high numbers, along with record numbers from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, led to India reporting its highest daily tally of 45,601 cases, which is 13.3% higher than its previous high of 40,243 cases on 19 July and 24.4% higher than its last 7-day average of 36,657 cases. India also recorded its highest-ever tally of 1,120 deaths. The previous high was 680 on 16 July.

Can it be a coincidence that 7 of the bottom 16 states logged such high growth rates in the number of cases reported in a single day? And I have not even analysed the growth in deaths — surely there will be a lot of surprises there as well.

Do PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan now believe what I have been saying for over 3 months, especially about India’s pathetic testing coverage?

India definitely has definitely crossed 73 lakh (7.3 million) Covid cases — we just need to reach the average testing coverage of the Top 30 countries (in number of reported cases) to prove that!!!
