Congress MP Dr. Shashi Tharoor, in his recent book on PM Narendra Modi, which is titled THE PARADOXICAL PRIME MINISTER, keeps harping on the fact that BJP got (just) 31% of the national vote in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
What Tharoor cleverly fails to mention is that his own Congress party did not even manage to cross 29% vote share since 1991.
Tharoor also fails to mention that:
- BJP’s vote share of 31% was 60.6% higher than Congress’ 19.3% votes in 2014
- BJP’s vote share in 2014 went UP by 25.9% compared to 2009.
- Congress’ vote share in 2014 went DOWN by 32.4% compared to 2009, after 10 years of Sonia Gandhi led UPA governments.
Please #NoMoreLies Dr. Tharoor – surely you should set higher standards for yourself, given your background and eminence.
