In response to the #PulwamaAttack – the #IndianAirForce struck terror camps in Balakot (inside Pakistan), Chakothi (in PoK) and Muzaffarabad (in PoK).
Balakot is less than 150-km from Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad (see Map on Left). Chakothi is less than 170-km from Islamabad and Muzaffarabd is just 125-km from the capital of Aatankistan (see Map on Right).
The locations hit in this strike were joint training camps of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HuM).
A total of 12,000 pounds (5,455 kgs) of laser-guided bombs were dropped at these three places by 12 Dassault Mirage 2000 IAF jets. Yes the Mirage 2000 is made by the same company (Dassault) which will start delivering us the RAFALE jets in about 6 months. Some reports also suggest that Sukhoi aircraft were used by the IAF.
Estimates suggest that a total of 3000-3500 terrorists were killed at the three targets. There was ZERO LOSS to the Indian Air Force. Though Pakistan Air Force scrambled its American-made F-16 jets, they were unsuccessful in targeting the IAF jets.
Is this the end of our revenge for Pulwama? I don’t think so. I believe that more will happen, as we still have to get Maulana Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed.
