USA’s 1-day Record leads to World Record of almost 200,000 Cases on 1 July

I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 113 days and have written 176 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 113 days.

The world recorded 196,963 (almost 2 lakh) new daily cases yesterday, mainly because of USA’s new daily record of 51,097 cases. The previous world record for new cases on a single day was 195,496 cases on June 26, just 5 days prior. The last 6 days’ average has been 178,930 cases.

USA’s previous highest daily record was 47,365 cases on June 26. The last 6 days’ average has been 45,577 cases.

Brazil’s third-highest tally of 44,884 cases (its highest was 55,209 cases on June 19 and second highest was 46,907 cases on June 26); India’s third-highest tally of 19,428 cases (its highest was 20,131 cases on June 27 and second highest was 19,620 cases on June 28); and South Africa’s single-day highest tally of 8,124 cases; helped set the new world record for cases recorded on a single day.
