194,190 (1.94 lakh) new Covid-19 cases were reported worldwide yesterday as USA reported its highest daily tally of 47,341 cases and India reported its highest daily cases.
USA’s previous highest tally was 40,212 cases on the previous day (June 25) while India also reported its previous highest count of 18,185 cases on the same day.
The new daily record of 194,190 cases in the world was also aided by Brazil’s second highest daily tally of 46,907 cases recorded yesterday. Brazil recorded its highest tally of 55,209 cases on June 19, which was the day on which the world recorded its previous highest tally of 182,209 new daily cases.
In the past 15 days, Brazil, USA and India put together have contributed 50.18% of the total 2,283,658 (22.84 lakh) global cases. While Brazil has contributed 20.77%, USA has contributed 20.16% and India has contributed 9.25%. But if we look at just the last 8 days, the 3 countries’ contribution to total 1,323,233 (13,23 lakh) cases goes up to 53.78%, with Brazil contributing 22.42%, USA 21.66% and India 9.7%.
