3-day Spike in Cases in Brazil, USA and India Lead To New World Record

I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 107 days and have written 168 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 107 days.

In the last 3 days, Brazil has recorded an average of 40,600 daily cases, which is the highest ever in a 3-day period. The previous highest was 36,610 average daily cases during June 18-20. The average of the past 7 days has been 35,684 daily cases, compared to an average of 25,387 daily cases in the 7 days from June 12 to 18 and an average of 27,111 daily cases in the 7 days from June 5 to 11.

USA recorded its highest daily count of 40,184 new cases yesterday (June 25), which was 2.78% higher than the previous record of 39,099 cases recorded on April 24 (over two months ago). In the last 3 days, USA has recorded an average of 38,198 daily cases, which is the highest ever in a 3-day period. The previous highest was 35,551 average daily cases during April 23-25. The average of the past 7 days has been 34,158 daily cases, compared to an average of 24,813 daily cases in the 7 days from June 12 to 18 and an average of 21,397 daily cases in the 7 days from June 5 to 11.

USA also crossed a new milestone of 2.5 million cases yesterday. The country reached its first 0.5 million cases in 70 days, then 1.0 million cases in 17 days, 1.5 million in 19 days, 2.0 million in 22 days, and now 2.5 million in 18 days. This shows that the country had started getting things under control after reaching 1.0 million cases on April 27, but the situation has again started going out of control.

In the last 3 days, India has recorded an average of 16,907 daily cases, which is the highest ever in a 3-day period. The previous highest was 15,273 average daily cases during June 19-21. The average of the past 7 days has been 15,726 daily cases, compared to an average of 11,830 daily cases in the 7 days from June 12 to 18 and an average of 10,224 daily cases in the 7 days from June 5 to 11.

The 3-day spike in cases in these 3 countries has led to a record high of 172,503 average daily cases in the world in any 3-day period. The previous high was 160,455 average daily cases during June 18-20. The average of the past 7 days has been 161,136 daily cases, compared to an average of 137,198 daily cases in the 7 days from June 12 to 18 and an average of 126,024 daily cases in the 7 days from June 5 to 11.

While >23.5% of the new cases in the last 3 days have been added in Brazil, >22.1% have been added in USA and >9.8% have been added in India. Put together, these 3 countries alone have added almost 55.5% of all new cases in the world from June 23 to June 25.
