I have been conducting Data Analytics Studies on the Coronavirus Pandemic for 102 days and have written 164 research-based blog posts on COVID-19 in these 102 days.
China’s population is 4.3% higher than India’s. But China has 79.8% less Covid-19 cases than India.
Similarly, consider the fact that China’s population is 335% higher than USA’s but it has 96.4% less cases than USA; or the fact that China’s population is 577.5% higher than Brazil’s but it has 92.2% less cases than Brazil; or the fact that China’s population is 886.3% higher than Russia’s but it has 85.7% less cases than Russia; or the fact that China’s population is 552% higher than Pakistan’s but it has 52.8% less cases than Pakistan; or the fact that China’s population is 774.2% higher than Bangladesh’s but it has 23.4% less cases than Bangladesh.
If China’s testing rate and Positivity Rate (number of people tested positive out of total number tested) were the same as India, China would have 430,668 cases (instead of just 83,378); if these rates were comparable to Bangladesh, China would have 950,959 cases; if they were comparable to Pakistan, China would have over 1.151 million cases; if they were comparable to Russia, China would have over 5.766 million cases; if they were comparable to Brazil, China would have over 7.25 million cases; and if they were comparable to USA, China would have over 10.136 million cases.
If we consider the 13 countries with a minimum population of 50 million (which leaves out Spain, Peru, Chile, Saudi Arabia and Canada) and a minimum of 100,000 Covid-19 cases, and average the numbers out, China would have 4,083,380 cases, which is 75.2% higher than USA, the country with the most “reported” Covid-19 cases. Thus, China would be underreporting numbers by a whopping 97.96%. Do you believe this to be true?
